Yolita Mogollon Gallery

Yolita Mogollon was born Jan 30, 1956 in Cartagena, Colombia.  She has spent most of her life close to different shores, her childhood in Cartagena and the surrounding islands and as a grown up living in Virginia Beach, Va, and South Florida and spending vacations in Cartagena and any place close to the ocean.

Her interest in art began at an early age drawing and painting in watercolors her surroundings, flowers, children.

Now coming back to Cartagena for part of the year, she has found inspiration in the beauty of the sea, the coast and the life in it. She has been a full time artist since 2011. Yolita's painting style is a contemporary realism, and reflects her passion for the ever changing seascapes. Her paintings capture the vastness of the ocean, some with the added details of birds and children creating whimsical compositions.

Yolita has shown her watercolors in Richmond and Virginia Beach, Va and in Coral Gables, Florida.  She is now painting in oils and has shown collectively in Cartagena. She also continues to paint in watercolors. She studied French Civilization in La Sorbonne, Paris, and Art History in Instituto Dante Alighieri, Florence. Married 36 years ago, she now lives in Florida, USA and part time in Cartagena, Colombia.
